Most of the donations come from individuals throughout Manitoba. Last year, 11,000 people made a donation! Money also comes from the Government of Manitoba to help us run programs to help people quit smoking. And finally, we receive some money from corporations, foundations, and the Government of Canada.

Getting the wording correct is important. If you choose to leave a specific amount in your will to the Manitoba Lung Association, here is the wording:

“I direct my Trustees to pay or transfer the sum of $_____ to the Manitoba Lung Association (a division of the Sanatorium Board of Manitoba) to be used for the Manitoba Lung Association’s general purposes as its directors see fit. The charitable registration number for The Manitoba Lung Association is 107952798 RR0001.”

OR, if you would like to leave a portion of your estate to the Manitoba Lung Association after all debts and specific bequests to loved ones are made, here is the wording:

“I direct my Trustees to pay or transfer all (or a stated percentage) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate the Manitoba Lung Association (a division of the Sanatorium Board of Manitoba) to be used for the Manitoba Lung Association’s general purposes as its directors see fit.
