WILL QUIT FOR FOOD!

Time to quit smoking, Cold Turkey

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – THURSDAY, SEPT. 14

WINNIPEG, MB – The Lung Association announces its first ever ManitobaQuits Cold Turkey Challenge. Smokers are encouraged to quit smoking throughout the month of November and for doing so; they will receive a turkey for their holiday dinners!

Participants will also receive a quit kit as well as support in the form of phone calls or emails leading up to and during the month of November to help keep participants motivated.

“Quitting smoking is tough, but it is easier with support and the Lung Association is here for you,” said Neil Johnson, Interim President and CEO, Lung Association, Manitoba. “Just think how much better the turkey will taste when your taste buds are clear of tobacco.”

Turkeys have been generously donated by Granny’s Poultry and are a great addition to our newest program.

“We’re excited to partner with the Manitoba Lung Association on ManitobaQuits Cold Turkey”, says Craig Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Granny’s Poultry. “It’s about making a change, not only for your health, but for your family and there’s no better time to quit smoking than for the holidays.”
